Waiakea Water Hits the Selling Trifecta of Bottle Water

Waiakea Water comes from a Volcano. A Volcano! Mauna Loa Volcano to be precise. Mauna Loa is located on the Big Island in Hawaii. Waiakea is located at the town of Hilo, which rests near the foot of the mountain. The water Waiakea bottles fits the three main selling points for bottle water. It comes from an exotic location (cannot be more exotic than a volcano), is sourced from a sustainable aquifer (Bottle water is all about that carbon footprint), and possess a natural pH rating of 8.8. The natural occurring electrolytes within the water are mere icing on the cake. Waiakea is the best water in the bottle water market at present.

Waiakea was founded by Ryan Emmons, who stumbled upon its possibility whilst on vacation. Emmons is a big advocate for the environment and made sure that production of the water was as green as possible. The facility that collects the water runs on 33% renewable energy, the packaging is environmentally conscious, and the aquifer has a 1.4 billion gallon recharge rate. Emmons also gives back, donating 650 liters of clean water to Africa for every liter sold domestically.

For those unfamiliar with alkaline water it is the newest trend to sweep through the bottled water industry. Alkaline water lowers the bodies acidity, which is a big deal considering acidity levels in most beverages or very high. A balanced pH level reduces acid reflux, which is very good for the human body. Acidity has only become more noticeable as of late, but since the bottled water market runs on such information it’s a big deal.

The bottle water market sells water, the entire industry built around the same commodity. The only thing that separates one companies water from the other, besides attractive packaging, is the health benefits to the body. The source of the water is also of interest, as well as its effect on the environment. Companies that care and work to better the environment get more business. Waiakea holds the trifecta, making it a very dangerous company right now. Emmons just wants to supply the world with the best quality of water.

Michael Lacey And Jimmy Larkin’s War for The Immigrants

Joe Arpaio is not new to controversies, and neither is president trump. One of the most prevalent one involved Joe Arpaio’s pardon. Arpaio’s story intertwines with Jim Larkin and Michael Lacey in a war against and for immigrants. Michael Lacey, the son of an immigrant and a dropout, came together with his partner Jim Larkin to create New Times. Learn more about Jim Larkin and Michael Lacey: http://james-larkin.com/ and https://angel.co/jim-larkin-1

The paper was an alternative weekly in Arizona that dealt with sensitive issues other papers found too hot to handle. This very aspect often brought them into loggerheads with Joe Arpaio a sheriff known for his notoriety when it comes to making unsanctioned arrests as well as decisions based on suspicion.

The sheriff had been warned quite sometimes against making such arrests behind doors by court judges.

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin were advocates that felt strongly against immigrant targeting which opposed Arpaio’s stand. The Anti-immigrant sheriff also seemed to be in the president’s bandwagon during his campaign with the president hinting in some of his campaigns in Arizona that he would pardon Arpaio.

Jim and Michael were arrested from their homes on October 18 in 2007 after publishing an article on a grand jury that had been set up in Arizona. They did not have any idea that the jury had been set up to investigate them.

The events were instigated and executed by Joe Arpaio. Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin had previously written some articles concerning Joe Araio’s dealings. The news, however, did not hit major papers as Joe was not big news to anyone then.

Their arrest and stories of exposure to corruption and unwarranted arrests became national news fast which attracted major lawmakers. The case also exposed the many misdemeanors Joe was involved in concerning the immigrants.

The court charged Joe Arpaio with criminal contempt, a charge that could lead up to 6 months of jail time without bail.

The two men were released within 24 hours after a huge public outcry and the subpoenas thwarted. The same events led to the investigation of the jury where the warrants were found to be counterfeit even as Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin sued the County.

The duo settled with the county for $3.7 million but did not stop there. They went ahead to create the Frontera Fund which is one of the biggest organizations currently fighting for the rights of immigrants. The Latino community was one of the main targets for Joe, and these enjoyed immense support from the duo. The Human rights movement also vowed to continue supporting their movement.

By 2012 the duo had sold WM to interested executives, and by then the paper already had a 9 million strong monthly readership and an impressive 56 million monthly online viewership.

They also had by this time added to their long line of journalistic honors including the renowned Pulitzer Award for Journalism. Arpaio’s rhetoric and agenda have led to more and more movements arising.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio Needs to Be Behind Bars

The Bible says that we should not be ashamed of the gospel because the gospel is the only thing that can save mankind. Often when people hear this statement they think Christians are only advocating for belief and doctrine. However, I say unto you that the gospel is a summation of two different things.

Firstly it is about loving God and secondly it is about loving man. When you look in the Old Testament the two things that are mentioned the most are idolatry and justice. God was thoroughly interested in finding justice for those who are oppressed and subjected to tyrannical rule.

Today, illegal immigrants are feeling the effects of oppression and tyranny. In Mexico they deal with drug lords and politicians who seek to use them for their own ends.

When they escape that country and come to the United States of America they find that they are unable to give work and they are subjected to low daily pay which goes underneath the table and robs them of proper funds.

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin have a way to make this evil stop. These two men are activists for immigration reform and they run the Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund.

Oddly enough, this nonprofit came into existence when Sheriff Joseph Arpaio even legally trampled on the rights of these two men. Ever since that time, this nonprofit has sought to give Hispanics and Latinos the rights of everyday Americans and fight for their ability to speak freely.

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin encourage America to approach immigration reform in a holistic and systematic manner. They believe that America should come up with a way to welcome immigrants into this country, providing them the education and skills needed to gain an occupation, and then followed them into work so they can be productive citizens.

While Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin have been advocating for this systematic plan, Sheriff Joseph Arpaio has come out of the shadows to oppose this great change.

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin have dealt with Sheriff Joseph Arpaio for quite some time. They have reported on the evil deeds he has done to Hispanics and Latinos.

The first evil that Sheriff Joseph Arpaio committed to the Hispanic community was by stacking the Maricopa County Police Department toward a racial bias. To keep it simple, all officers were fired who believe in equality and new officers were hired as long as the racial biases could be confirmed.

The second evil that Sheriff Joseph Arpaio committed to the Hispanics was by enacting punishment upon them even though they were not found guilty of crimes. It is not unheard of for Sheriff Joe Arpaio to allow Hispanic men to be beaten during arrest, homes to be set on fire, and women illegally detained.

There are many more evils that I could share the Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin have done a very good job in writing on these issues in order to touch America’s compassionate hear.

James Larkin: The Union Leader Who Led Workers Rights Movements

James Larkin was a prominent historical figure who played an essential role in bringing together the workers unions for the benefit of the people in society. Learn more about Jim Larkin: http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/british/easterrising/profiles/po08.shtml and http://www.historyireland.com/20th-century-contemporary-history/big-jim-larkin-hero-and-wrecker/

He was born in Liverpool in 1876. He didn’t have much of education growing up, as he didn’t come from a family that could afford much. He started working at a very early age to be able to support his family and supplement their income.

He worked a variety of entry-level jobs and made his way around on a daily wage. Because of how much he had to work at an early age, he soon gained an understanding of the employment scene in the country.

It wasn’t long before he realized the amount of exploitation that was going on when it came to the workers and laborers in the country. There were several instances where people were being treated poorly, and being put in inhumane work conditions, all while not receiving adequate pay. More often than not, these workers did not have access to their basic rights and didn’t have a place where they could voice their concerns without fear of losing their livelihood.

This was when Larkin decided to join trade unions to support other people like him, and so that he could better assert his rights. The first trade union that he became a part of was the National Union of Dock Labourers. He stayed in the union as a member for a considerable amount of time before he decided to take up a more prominent role and become a full-time union organizer.

Because of how much of an impact he was having on the situation of laborers in London, he was transferred out of the city and sent to work in Dublin. This, however, didn’t stop him from working towards better rights for the laborers there.

He started the Irish Transport and General Workers Union, with a goal to bring together different kinds of workers in various sectors. Through the organization, he led several protests and movements which helped him assert the demands of these workers to give them a more secure work environment and a better means to support their families.

Larkin & Lacey

Michael Lacey is the son of a construction worker. His family has instilled lessons of honest, hard work into him since his birth. He was raised in the bustling city of Newark, New Jersey and moved away to attend college in 1960.

He attended Arizona State University. He was studying journalism during the time of war; he and a few students decided to publish their own newspaper to protest. The protest newspaper would go on to become the inaugural issue of Phoenix New Times.

When the school banned publication of his paper he dropped out and pursued the route of independent publishing. The paper quickly grew in popularity amongst alternative Americans and underrepresented Americans. The weekly circulation grew to serve an audience of more than 100 readers.

Jim Larkin grew up in Arizona and dropped out of Arizona State University when he became a founding member of the Phoenix New Times. He and Michael Lacey addressed political, social, and local issues that were not getting the coverage they felt the issues deserved. Their main focus for the paper in the beginning was their platform of antiwar protests.

They had been banned from protesting on campus so they decided to use their publication to voice their unrest. Their paper was young and hip, it was fierce and feisty, other alternative papers in the country were growing in popularity during the same period Phoenix New Times was released.

Throughout their careers as editor in chief and journalist, Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin would lead their paper to the masses in the nation. They fought for the rights of minorities. Many of their subjects dealt with racism and bigotry. There favorite topic was the county sheriff Joe Arapaio.

They revealed the illegal actions being taken by the Maricopa County sheriff and deputies. Many times, Joe Arapaio used unrestricted force and racial profiling to handle immigrants. Learn more about Jim Larkin and Michael Lacey: http://www.bizjournals.com/phoenix/potmsearch/detail/submission/6427818/Michael_Lacey and http://www.laceyandlarkinfronterafund.org/about-lacey-larkin-frontera-fund/michael-lacey/

The conditions in his jail were horrible. All of his ill deeds were revealed in the Phoenix New Times over the course of a few years and Arapaio wanted the newspaper silenced.

He attempted to violate the First Amendment Rights of Lacey and Larkin and was tried in court. After deciding that he would be sentenced for obstruction of justice, Joe Arapaio was rewarded a presidential pardon.

He remains a free man today and is planning to run for a seat in the Senate. It is unfortunate that a racist and bigot can run for an office but Lacey and Larkin will reveal the truth.

Jim Larkin and Michael Lacey Are Haunted Still by Sheriff Joe Arpaio

When President Trump recently pardoned a long time accuser of Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin, two men who were allegedly guilty of sharing information that was not supposed to be shared on a case for the Grand Jury, people were not that shocked. Read more: Michael Lacey | LinkedIn and Phoenix New Times | Wikipedia

After all, President Trump has sided with practically everything that is unexpected since taking office. It comes as no big surprise. Larkin and Lacey had apparently been writing something that the Sheriff, who had been pardoned as you may recall, had done. Here are the details.

Lacey and Larkin had created a publication called the FrontPage that has been publishing some things that Sheriff Joe Arpaio did not approve of at all.

A bust was organized on the pair of newsmen and history forever changed. It was obvious that he did not want them to remain free. It gets even more complicated. Learn more about Jim Larkin and Michael Lacey: http://www.bizjournals.com/phoenix/potmsearch/detail/submission/6427427/Jim_Larkin and http://www.bizjournals.com/phoenix/potmsearch/detail/submission/6427818/Michael_Lacey

The sheriff had also been accused of some serious things himself. Those things were catching up to him now. He allegedly had a habit of cuffing expectant mothers to their beds.

The sheriff failed to appear at the civil court appearance and that resulted in his arrest. President Trump has taken care of those charges for the time being. Considering the charges against Larkin and Lacey came after all of that was covered by the news, it goes without saying that the noose was closing for the sheriff. It looked plain fishy to the public by that time.

Come election day, it was all over for Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who by now was gaining the reputation as the “sheriff of revenge.” He has never been charged with any abuse of power at all. That can come later. For now though, the ten-year saga has dragged on and has haunted Lacey and Larkin.

The money that was made from the civil suit won by the pair against the sheriff probably has not helped make the sheriff any friends either. Lacey and Larkin put that money to good use by creating a fund to help people dealing with this type of malarky get the legal assistance they need.

Larkin and Lacey are clearly devoted to serving the pursuit of freedom of speech. They have been quoted as saying that they will pursue this all the way to defend the right for that and stand against the tyranny of the crooked sheriff. Who today, is a sheriff no more.

Why Sweetgreen is More Than Just Another Restaurant

Sweetgreen, just like other successful ventures, has an inspirational story behind it. The company which now boasts of 77 stores in operation across the U.S was founded by three forward-thinking entrepreneurs, Nicolas Jammet, Nathaniel Ru, and Jonathan Neman while in their senior year at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

Getting an address for their first restaurant was a challenge for the three. Ru explains that he and his friends approached a landlady who turned them away advising them to polish up their business plan, get some business backers, and contract the services of an architect.

Ru is proud that the landlady gave them a chance; they proceeded to do as instructed, and the landlady offered them space for their first restaurant. Since then, the sky has been the limit for the fast-casual restaurant chain.

Theresa Dold, head of Sweetgreen’s digital marketing, and Ru emphasize that Sweetgreen is more than a place people go to buy food. Always, the company founders seek to answer the question that many customers ask themselves, “why.” And other questions like “what,” follow after that. According to Dold, Sweetgreen is not only social, sexy, and smart, but also local.

What’s more, the restaurant has a great line of juices, and it organizes a music festival every year. With 77 stores, some clients may wonder if Sweetgreen can live up to the core values of the company, but Ru is optimistic that the measures they have in place ensure that Sweetgreen maintains simplicity and not appear as some corporate giant.

According to Ru, Sweetgreen espouses five core values. The values include,

  • “win, win, win.”
  • “keeping it real.”
  • thinking sustainably
  • adding the sweet
  • making an impact

All the values speak to Sweetgreen’s desire to be a modern brand that has a deeper connection with its clients and to be socially conscious.

Sweetgreen’s “music and food experience,” sweet life, is the region’s most significant music and food festival attracting over 20 thousand people. However, many people may not be aware of what triggered Sweetgreen to use music as a marketing tool.

Ru explains that one of their restaurants lacked customers for close to two weeks and the owners suggested that they woo customers with music; it worked. And that marked the start of Sweetgreen’s love for music.

Ru’s parents, just like Jammet’s, and Neman’s are business owners. That explains why Ru is a business-minded individual who is sought after for his insight on creating brands that stand the taste of time.

Roberto Santiago: Founder of the Complete Shopping and Entertainment Experience that is the Manaira Shopping Mall

If you have walked through a mall, chances are you have realizes that they are more than just about shopping. Malls are seen as a location to congregate and network by people of different age groups. To appeal to all these age groups, malls typically have entertainment facilities for everyone. The Manaira Shopping Mall in the state of Paraiba is one of those that have invested heavily in entertainment amenities. As such, the mall is widely considered the most popular in the region.

The epitome of the entertainment facilities at the Manaira Shopping Mall is its movie theaters. There are a total of 13 cinema halls at the mall with three of them being special as they are exclusively 3-D movie theaters. Additionally, the mall has a bowling alley that is often stocked with numerous adults. On the other hand, children have a very big gaming area to keep them busy.

Food also forms a major part of the entertainment value offered at Manaira Shopping Mall. As with all malls, it has large food courts that serve diverse menus that are affordable. However, for those going for more close and intimate meals, the mall has numerous restaurants and gourmet areas that offer quality meal options.

Even while Manaira Shopping Mall has put in so much towards creating unique entertainment experiences, it has not neglected its core duty towards shopping and the essential amenities of a mall. In total, Manaira shopping has dozens of shopping stores. Some of these stores, in fact, are international brands with exclusive rights agreement with the mall. Additionally, to facilitate the numerous financial transactions that occur within the mall, it features a number of bank branches.
