On April 16, 2017, PodcastOne CEO Norman Pattiz and the Edison Research Strategy VP Tom Webster released the results ofa research by Edison Researchers. The research involved carrying out advertising tests with five prominent American brands in five different product and service classes. The studywas conducted in the last half of 2016.

 

Important Findings of the Research

 

The number of Podcast listeners who associate to a given grocery brand increased from 7% before the Ad runs to over 60% after the Ad. The responsiveness of the financial service products, car after-market goods and grass and garden product increased by 47%, 37%, and 24% respectively after theadvertisement. Besides, more post-research results showed that there was an increase of people who view car aftermarket positively from 18% toover a third. Those “almost convinced” to use garden and lawn products increased from 16% to 22% after the research. There was also an improvement in the response rate to a given car promotion by 60% and by 76% ina casual restaurant.

 

The researchers carried out three types of studies for PodcastOne to establish the impact of the company’s marketing program on five national brands. Not all brandswere well established. The surveywas first conducted before the start of the advertisement campaign and a then repeated after 4-6 weeks of advertisement. The results showed that the promotions had positive impacts on the willingness to buy these products.
